May 31, 2018 — We are proud to share some exciting news! Cohort II member Bow Valley BBQ, producer of all-natural barbeque sauces and condiments, won five awards for its products at the 11th Annual Hot Pepper Awards.
“We are thrilled with the results of the Annual Hot Pepper Awards and are very excited to be continually recognized for our flavour profiles,” says founder Jamie Ayles. “Winning these awards signifies that we are growing as a leader in a sauce and condiment landscape in Canada.”
Since its graduation from the District Ventures program Bow Valley BBQ has grown rapidly. It has received an investment from the District Ventures Capital fund and is now being distributed by Loblaw and Overwaitea Food Group. By the end of 2018 Bow Valley BBQ products and its line of fresh salad dressings known as Boccalino Fine Foods will be available across Canada.
Ayles highlighted his experience in working with District Ventures as invaluable. “It introduced us to a great amount of industry connections that allowed us to expand our distribution network and helped us create a path for how to strategically grow our business. I would highly recommend the program to any food entrepreneur that is looking to take their business to national and international success.”
Bow Valley BBQ was founded by Jamie Ayles, a former executive chef for the 5 Diamond Lizard Creek Lodge in Fernie, B.C. His culinary experience and passion for creating food led him to create Bow Valley BBQ, an all-natural line of barbeque sauces, rubs and spreads. In 2015, Bow Valley BBQ acquired Boccalino Fine Foods, which is now the fastest growing line of fresh salad dressings. Learn more at http://www.bowvalleybbq.com/.
