Provincial Food Regulations

Updated: May 15

Canadian food regulations can be complex with both Federal (Canada wide) and Provincial regulations governing food made and sold in Canada.

In Ontario, food production is governed at the provincial, health unit and municipal levels.

Food manufacturing facilities, like Venturepark Labs are inspected by public health inspectors based on requirements of the Ontario Food Premises Regulation. They also must meet applicable municipal requirements.

The image below is an introduction to how food manufacturers are regulated Ontario.
